Following residency, Dr. Pennicooke completed advanced fellowship training in complex spinal reconstruction and minimally invasive spine surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). There, he trained alongside both neurosurgical and orthopedic spine surgeons, gaining extensive experience in multidisciplinary approaches to complex spinal conditions.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Pennicooke has a strong academic and research interest in the application of artificial intelligence, advanced machine learning, predictive analytics, and causal inference to improve surgical decision-making and patient outcomes. His work combines clinical medicine with advanced data science to better understand which treatments are most likely to benefit individual patients.
