Dr. Burkett is a Board-Certified General Surgeon with specialized expertise in retroperitoneal exposure of the spine. A graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, he completed his general surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.
Dr. Burkett is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a distinction awarded to surgeons who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their field and uphold the highest ethical standards. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.
At Spine Capital, Dr. Burkett brings unmatched experience in spine access surgery, having successfully performed over 7,000 retroperitoneal spine exposure procedures throughout his career.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Burkett enjoys spending time with his four children and three dogs. His hobbies include fly fishing, exercising, reading, and traveling.
